Zareou: London’s Latest Ride Hailing App coming in 2020
Ride hailing in London is getting more complex, with more options arriving on the streets with regularity. One of the latest, and perhaps most revolutionary for drivers, is Zareou.
For those who aren’t aware, as of November 2019, Uber had their London licence revoked by TFL. However, Uber have appealed the decision, which has prolonged their departure for the time being. We’ll keep you up to date with the developments, which could take a while, but could this mean the end of Uber in London?
There is no need to fret as there has been a tidal wave of ride hailing options towards the end of the year. Bolt and Kapten are the two best known, but here comes Zareou!
Their own blurb says that they’re bringing affiliate marketing to ride hailing… But, how does Zareou stack up against the other London ride hailing apps, and is it worth becoming a Zareou driver?
How does Zareou work for drivers?
As mentioned, Zareou are looking to introduce a bit of affiliate marketing into the ride hailing playbook. For the users of the service, this means that you earn a commission for every time anyone in your network uses Zareou.
It’s a clever approach, and one that could see regular users, and those with a good network, really rack up those rewards and earn more money.
So how do you earn the extra commission? You can either:
- Get passengers to sign up to use Zareou – earning a commission each time they ride
- Refer a driver to Zareou – with a commission each time they pick up a fare
- Take a ride – and gain loyalty points every time you do
Benefits for riders
Riders choosing Zareou get access to all the benefits of using a quality ride hailing app. Put in your journey and you’ll be able to see ride options in your budget, with different vehicle options.
With your card details in the app, you don’t need to carry cash as all payments are taken after your ride from your account.
And, if you’ve referred other riders, you’ll earn loyalty points each time they ride with Zareou that can be used towards your own journeys!
Driving for Zareou
As a Zareou driver, there are few other ways that the affiliate earnings might convince you to sign up. As well as the benefits listed above, you can also earn extra money by:
- Being the preferred driver – If a passenger chooses to hire you and your car by the hour, you earn a bonus
- Scheduled bonus – If you’re scheduled for a pickup at a future date, you earn more than if it’s a regular pick up
- Tips – And of course, the good old format of a tip for being good at what you do…
If you’ve been driving for Uber, or you’re new to the on demand minicab game, then you might find these little extras very tempting.
As a matter of fact, Zareou actually state that their commission will be the same as any other ride hailing service, although on occasion it could be less. However, it says that “taking care of our drivers is a top priority”. With the potential for extra income for referrals or customer loyalty, it could be a game changer.
Affiliate or pyramid?
The jury is still out on whether Zareou will be a success. But with their USP being the affiliate marketing model, it could be the crucial difference that helps Zareou win the ride hailing app wars in London.
After all, if you can make extra money referring drivers, or points by referring friends, wouldn’t you give it a go?
